Product Description:

Please check out my 100% Positive feedback and bid with complete confidence. (And please check out the other beautiful pots that I have on eBay.) You are bidding on a wood /salt fired guinomi by New York State master potter Tim Rowan. (It was featured in an exhibition at Lacoste Gallery in Lexington, MA.) DESCRIPTION: This gem from Tim Rowan has squared walls with carved bottom corners that nicely complement the gently raised corners of the rim. It emerged from the kiln with lovely orange blush on two sides that mingles with both glassy and matte blue/gray ash markings. (The interior of the cup has a dramatically contrasting gray/black glaze.) Subtle combed decorative patterns and shell imprints impart still further textural interest to this world class cup The guinomi measures app 2” tall x 2” wide and is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs. It has the potter’s impressed personal mark. This is a no reserve auction. ABOUT TIM ROWAN: Tim Rowan received his BFA from the State University Of New York at New Paltz in 1992. A two year apprenticeship with Ryuichi Kakurezaki in Bizen, Japan (1992-1994) was followed by graduate school at Penn State from which he received his MFA in 1999. Shortly thereafter, Rowan established his own pottery at Stone Ridge in New York State. Using clay from the surrounding area- often leaving in “impurities” that others might remove- he is known for restrained, simple forms that “respectfully reference traditions of the past while firmly planting themselves in contemporary ceramics. Tim Rowan is a rising star in the pottery world whose work is drawing increasing serious interest among an ever widening group of collectors. SHIPPING: Winning bidder pays for USPS Priority shipping. Winning New York bidder pays applicable state sales tax. International shipping charge is $45. Winning international bidders are responsible for any import taxes imposed by their particular country.
