Vintage Mary Erckenbrack California Studio Art Pottery Sculpture
Ceramic sculpture created by Mary Erckenbrack. Erckenbrack (1910 - 1992) painter, sculptor and ceramist studied under Alexander Archipenko and opened her studio, Mary E's Mud Shop, in San Francisco in the 1930's. She sold her work through Gump's, Marshall Fields and specialty shops in New York City. Her work was exhibited at the Ceramic Nationals in 1947 and 1949. The sculpture is approximately 11 1/2 inches tall, 7 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide. Singed Mary E on the base. Glaze loss to necklace on back of neck.Weighs 4 pounds.
